Making a Magazine Article - Task 3

For my assignment, I had to write an article to be seen in my magazine. in the end, I wrote the article as seen on my blog called  "My tips to add color into your wardrobe" I felt as if it fit the theme of the magazine perfectly and would accompany the images I had well. Before I made this decision though I did some research into fashion magazines and articles that are inside them. I took the time to read and analyze a couple of them to get a picture of what type of article I am drawn to and the feature I should add or avoid.

These were interesting to read analytically as it is not usually the terms that I read a fashion magazine in. But it was interesting to see the things I did and didn't like. I came up with a number of things I want my article to contain. Firstly I want it to be meaningful content, a lot of fashion brands nowadays pay companies to promote and advertise their products and this makes the article seem disingenuous. I don't want to create content like that, I want it to be something believe in and I am passionate about it. I take inspiration from brands - certainly - but never base it purely on their work. Something else I also wanted to look at it having an informal tone. I want to break that barrier between me and the audience. this isn't a high-class fashion magazine, it's an edgy, inspirational magazine that is targeted at the younger generation. To get them to read a magazine you have to create authentic articles they will WANT to read.

That's why I came up with the idea of writing an article and adding color to your wardrobe. Its something I personally experienced so I can give some good tips that actually help and it is also a very open article. It is targeted for a range of people and something I think is actually helpful in fashion.
